Fine art Giclée on Hahnemühle Photo Rag
210 x 297mm including border, 2020.
During lockdown I participated in #artistsupportpledge and produced a number of special edition A4 and A3 limited edition fine art Giclée prints on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, signed and numbered. Each edition was released on twitter in a limited run.
'Summer' is a digital collage that remixes works from The Temple of Flora, considered to be the greatest of all flower books produced by the English physician and botanical writer Robert John Thornton (1768–1837); as well as selected works from Shirley Hibberd’s (1825–1890) “New and Rare Beautiful-Leaved Plants” comprising ornamental leaf illustrations engraved by English printmaker Benjamin Fawcett (1808–1893). The work references the history of botanical collage as a feminine and domestic British past-time which holds a remarkable documentation of women’s creative work in the home - during lock down this seemed particularly pertinent.
