Bechdel Rule Pass appropriates a series of famous leading ladies in Hollywood movies to comment on the current debate in Hollywood about the lack of prominent female film roles and unfair pay. The title of the work derives from the infamous Bechdel test, which monitors whether feature films have at least two women who talk to each other about something other than a man. The test is in place to call attention to gender inequality due to sexism in modern filmmaking and only half of films tested pass.
